Skype-to-Skype communication does not use the campus or public telephone network, so calls can only be made to other Skype for Business users at this time. For faculty and staff workstations, your department's technology support staff should install the software component on your KU-issued computer.
Then, use Skype for Business to chat and make voice and video calls just as you do with KU Skype for Business users.
Whether you are purchasing new individual equipment or you are responsible for making group or major purchases, you are encouraged to check with your departmental technology support staff for guidance on what to buy.
You will not be able to see the caller’s ID from the lock screen, however if you are using a headset you can answer an incoming call using the answer button on the volume control of your headset.
You will, however, need to unlock your computer to see a caller’s ID before answering calls.
You can use Skype for Business from nearly any Windows PC or mobile device (Lync on Macs or mobile devices), on campus or anywhere in the world you have Internet access.
